Dr. Rees has been in private practice in Northern Virginia since 1975. He is a native of Schuylkill County, which is in the anthracite region of Pennsylvania. After graduating from LaSalle University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology Major and Philosophy Minor ( also lettering in varsity tennis for 4 years), he went to Georgetown University Medical School. Dr. Rees then went onto complete his pediatric residency at Georgetown as well. Dr. Rees also has an MBA degree in Medical Services Management from Johns Hopkins University. Besides private practice, Dr. Rees has been active in both the National Chapter and is currently serving as the President of the Virginia Chapter of The American Academy of Pediatrics. He has received special achievement awards from the Academy at both the state and national level. Frequently Dr. Rees travels to Richmond where he serves on advisory boards to the governor's office that focus on improving access to quality care and lobbying for Virginia's children. Dr. Rees is a founding father of both the Reston Raiders Youth Hockey program, and the Bishop O'Connell High School ice hockey team. He is an avid golfer, and a Capitols fan. Other interests include English and early American history. His favorite avocation is wine tasting with frequent trips to Northern California.  Dr. Rees is also a member and pediatric consultant of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Early Education Foundation (VECF), a non-profit advisory board to the governor whose main mission among several others is to promote the state wide franchising of pre kindergarten programs with bipartisan funding support of both Executive and Legislative branches of government, and private and corporate donations in Virginia through its Smart Beginnings program.
